Caesars Entertainment has opened pre-registration for Alberta residents as the province prepares to launch its regulated online gaming market. Eligible users aged 21 and older can now register through dedicated platforms to receive updates on the rollout of three Caesars brands: Caesars Palace Online Casino, Caesars Sportsbook & Casino, and Horseshoe Online Casino. The move positions Caesars among operators preparing for Alberta’s shift to a regulated framework that will permit approved operators to offer both online sports betting and casino gaming.

Three-Brand Strategy for Alberta Entry

Caesars Entertainment is preparing to introduce three distinct platforms when Alberta’s regulated market launches, each designed to serve different player segments. Caesars Palace Online Casino and Horseshoe Online Casino will focus on traditional casino gaming, offering slot games, table games, and live dealer options. Caesars Sportsbook & Casino will combine sports betting with casino gaming in a single interface, leveraging the company’s existing technology infrastructure and established wagering options.

Players can download the Caesars applications immediately, though Alberta will only become available as a selectable region once regulatory approval is finalized. Eric Hession, President of Caesars Digital, stated that pre-registration “is an important first step that allows players to prepare for launch while we finalize our plans to bring our full trifecta of platforms online in Alberta.”

Pre-Registration Process and Eligibility

Alberta residents aged 21 and older can register through Caesars’ dedicated Alberta webpage to receive notifications and updates related to the upcoming launch. Pre-registration enables users to sign up for launch notifications and access platform information before services go live. The registration process allows players to prepare for access and download applications in advance of the market opening.

Operators entering Alberta’s regulated market must complete a three-step application process with the Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) before entering into agreements with the Alberta iGaming Corporation. The Alberta iGaming Corporation has received interest from more than 50 sites seeking to participate in the province’s regulated scheme.

Market Timeline and Competitive Landscape

Alberta’s regulated online gaming market is expected to launch around mid-2026, with sports betting potentially available before the next NFL season according to Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction Minister Dale Nally. Caesars is at least the 15th operator to either apply for licensing or signal intent to participate in the province’s regulated market.

Other operators that have already launched pre-registration in Alberta include PointsBet Canada, BetRivers, and theScore Bet. This competitive positioning reflects broader industry recognition of Alberta’s emerging regulated market as a significant expansion opportunity. Caesars’ multi-brand approach mirrors its successful current operations in Ontario and four major U.S. states—Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia—making Alberta the sixth North American jurisdiction where the company will offer both gaming verticals through a mobile experience.
