What is Live Baccarat?
Live Baccarat is a real-time card game streamed from a studio or casino where a live dealer manages gameplay between players and the bank. Players place bets on whether the Player hand, Banker hand, or a Tie will win, with the dealer revealing cards according to fixed rules. This format combines the authenticity of land-based baccarat with the convenience of online play.

How Live Baccarat Works
In Live Baccarat, the dealer follows predetermined rules that eliminate player decision-making. Each hand—Player and Banker—receives two cards initially. Cards are valued by their last digit: numbered cards equal face value, face cards and tens equal zero, and aces equal one. If either hand totals 8 or 9 on the first two cards, that hand wins immediately (called a Natural). Otherwise, a third card may be drawn based on strict rules the dealer applies automatically.
Betting Options and Hand Outcomes
Players choose to bet on Player, Banker, or Tie before cards are dealt. A Player bet wins if the Player hand is closer to 9 and typically pays 1:1. A Banker bet pays slightly less (usually 0.95:1) because the Banker acts last and has a mathematical advantage. A Tie bet wins only if both hands match and typically pays 8:1 or 9:1, though this bet carries much higher house edge. The Banker bet has approximately 50.68% win probability, Player approximately 49.32%, making Banker statistically favourable over time.
Player Bet | Banker Bet |
|---|---|
| Wins if Player hand is closer to 9 | Wins if Banker hand is closer to 9 |
| Pays 1:1 (full winnings) | Pays 0.95:1 (5% commission deducted) |
| Win probability ~49.32% | Win probability ~50.68% |
| Better for variance tolerance | Better for long-term value |
